State Representative Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich) announced today that the Illinois REALTORS Association is offering a $500 grant for anyone affected by the recent tornado. Approval is subject to an executive order disaster proclamation, which is in effect for Crawford County.
“Anyone can apply and they need to supply only a minimal amount of information. Even someone who leases a home can get the grant,” said Rep. Adam Niemerg. “I encourage everyone in Crawford County impacted by this devastating disaster to apply for this assistance. Thank you to Ron Deedrick and the Illinois REALTORS for this opportunity to help the people in need at this time.”
Assistance is available to qualified applicants towards one of the following options:
1) Monthly mortgage expense for the primary residence that was damaged by the March/April 2023 tornado in Northern, Central, and Southern Illinois.
2) Rental cost of temporary shelter due to displacement from the primary residence resulting from the disaster or
3) Unreimbursed losses directly related to the disaster (e.g. Insurance Deductible, home-related not covered by insurance). Relief assistance is limited to a maximum of $500 per household. Deadline for application submission is July 1, 2023. Please note this assistance is for housing relief only; other expenses including vehicle purchase, rental, repair and or mileage are ineligible for reimbursement under this program.
