SPRINGFIELD, IL… State Representative Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich) reports that the efforts of thousands of families and concerned Illinois citizens has helped to slow down the push to regulate home schools and private schools in Illinois. The move to abolish Native American mascots from our schools advances though.
“The good news is that the homeschool bill did not run this week. We’ll see what the Democrats decide to do in May with that piece of legislation (HB 2827). Right now, they do not have the votes.
“A bad bill, the Native American school mascot bill removing all native American logos, names, etc. from our schools, did pass and it is now over in the Senate. Hopefully, that does not run over in the Senate. It is going to cost our school districts a lot of money and erase a lot of our heritage and tradition in our local schools here in Illinois. But as usual, just more bad woke policies from the Democrats that are hurting working class families and driving up the cost of living in the State of Illinois.”
