Dieterich, IL… State Representative Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich) is happy to report that his free senior fair held at the Effingham National Guard Armory with Rep. Brad Halbrook and Rep. Blaine Wilhour was a successful return of this popular event. More than 100 attendees were able to talk with Rep. Niemerg and gather information about services and programs available to senior citizens in the Effingham County area.
“I was happy to see so many people take the opportunity to learn about the many services available to them for health resources and programs offered from groups around the area like the Effingham Public Library,” commented Niemerg. “These events are great opportunities to answer questions about what is happening in the General Assembly and provide help with state programs. I think the attendees also enjoyed the opportunity to have a cup of coffee and visit with others as well.”

Nearly double the number of vendors were on hand as the previous event held in 2019 before the Covid-19 restrictions were imposed preventing group activities. Niemerg indicated that he plans to co-host this event on an annual basis and provide a one-stop-shopping opportunity for the residents of his district who can benefit from knowing what is available to them around the community.
