Rep. Adam Niemerg visited the Marshall Public Library for a tour and met with Library Director Alyson Thompson and John Tarble the president of the library board of trustees.
Rep. Niemerg learned that the library building was initially a buggy workshop and then Ford Motor Company bought it. It’s an historic building and they’ve done quite a bit to bring it back to life. They’ve added an elevator and completed 3,000 square feet of renovations upstairs. They would like to complete the other 6,000 sq ft upstairs. They have a large genealogical section, programs for kids, and have had exhibits such as the Orphan Train traveling exhibit. Rep. Niemerg has sponsored his Satellite Office Hours Program at the Marshall Library in the past.
