State Rep. Adam Niemerg visited Dieterich High School on Friday, January 9, 2025 to speak to Mr. Repking’s Government classes about state government and Rep. Niemerg’s experience in the Illinois House of Representatives.
Niemerg says there were many questions about the legislative districts and the worst gerrymandering in the country. The students also asked about “bad” legislation that has passed which Rep. Niemerg highlights in his “Naughty List” report to his constituents around Christmas.
Other questions surrounded if Niemerg would support term limits, what he thinks about the requirement for FOID cards and whether or not they’re constitutional, and about the state budget. Rep. Niemerg encouraged those who are interested in the “Page for a Day” program to contact his office and set up a day during the session to come to the Capitol for a firsthand experience learning how the General Assembly works.

“I know Mr. Repking does a great job with his government students, and I enjoy talking to the kids from my home area about how to get involved and help make a difference in their community,” said Niemerg.
