Rep. Niemerg Returns More Than $22,000 Back to the Illinois General Fund

State Representative Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich) announced today that he is returning $22,084.28 of taxpayers’ money back to the taxpayers for Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 that ended June 30th. During his first term in the General Assembly, Rep. Niemerg has to date returned $33,706.73 of taxpayer dollars back to the General Fund.

“When families in my district and all over Illinois are struggling with rising fuel costs, higher property taxes, and inflation in the economy, I believe it is important to set an example and spend less of other peoples’ money,” commented Rep. Adam Niemerg. “The Governor and majority party in the legislature should show real leadership and stop spending other peoples’ money like it grows on trees. They should stop raising taxes on things like gasoline that hurts families, seniors on fixed incomes and all taxpayers and small businesses.”
