Rep. Niemerg Joins Students & Families in “March for Life” to Rally at Illinois State Capitol

State Representative Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich) joined with thousands of other Illinoisans on Tuesday for the “March for Life” and rally in Springfield. The event was organized and supported by various organizations including Illinois March for Life, the Catholic Diocese of Springfield and the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.

“I am encouraged every year by the growing numbers of people and especially young people who are becoming engaged in this very important issue, protecting and defending the unborn,” said Rep. Niemerg, a father of two. “I believe this is the top issue of our time and without life, nothing else matters.”

Tuesday morning began with a 10:00 a.m. Catholic Mass celebrated at the Sangamon Auditorium at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) Campus and presided over by Bishop Thomas J. Paprocki. At 10:30 a.m.Trinity Lutheran Church, Springfield conducted a special Matins service commemorating Joseph, Guardian of Jesus and an Orthodox Christian Prayer of the Hours was prayed at St. Anthony Orthodox Church.

The rally began at 12:00 noon at the Lincoln Statue with a march around the Capitol and then meetings with legislators at 1:00 p.m. From 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. was a Eucharistic Adoration at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

“It was great to see so many from my area make the trip like the Youth for Life group from Newton and the Effingham Area Right to Life organization,” added Rep. Niemerg. “I encourage everyone to learn more about this important issue and how to help others in need to protect our precious next generation of children.”
